In two days 7th and 9th September, 2010, Quang Nam People’s Committee jointly coordinate with Ministry of Planning and Investment Viet Nam, Viet Nam Economic and Culture Office in Taipei, Taiwanese Business Association in Viet Nam and several other organizations to organize an investment promotion conference for Chu Lai Open Economic Zone and Quang Nam province in Taipei, Kaoshiung, Taiwan.
The conference was attended by hundreds of Taiwanese investors.The investors also highly appreciate potentailities and advantages of Quang Nam province. However, currently there are not many projects from Taiwanese investor in Quang Nam. According to some investors, the lack of information regarding to Quang Nam province, weak infrastructure, and scare of high-quality human resources are among the major factor.
At the conference, in addition to presenting an overview of strength investment policies and incentives of Quang Nam province, provincial agencies attempt to promote some of the special important projects, such as building infrastructure in Chu Lai Open Economic Zone (include free trade areas, industrial zones, Chu Lai Airport, Ky Ha Seaport, urban areas); projects of electrical and electronic engineering; aquaculture; auto parts ancillary industry; high-end eco-tourism projects along the coastal areas, river banks; and projects involve fields such as education, finance and bank…. Speaking at the conference, Mr. Le Phuoc Thanh, Vice Chairman of Quang Nam People’s Committee, suggest Taiwan businesses invest more in Chu Lai OEZ and undertook to create most favorable conditions for Taiwan businesses. Also at the conference, Mr. Le Tri Thanh, Director of The Investment Promotion and Enterprise Support Agency of Quang Nam province hope that Taiwan enterprises interested in investing in fields of rearing and growing, processing of agricultural, forest and aquatic products. These are fields which Taiwan had already succeeded because of the possession of excellent techniques, knowledge and experience, Quang Nam has lots of potentials both as a markets as well as a production base.
This conference got positive results, many enterprises such as Taiwan biggest lock manufacturer company – Phuc Hung Industrial, Yatch Builder - Aritex, and Kaoshiung Computer & Electrical Manufacturers Association assured that they will come to Quang Nam to esearch an investment opportunities in the near future.
